China – Tourist Sites
We saw all of the big highlights in Beijing – the Forbidden City (giant and kind of boring), the Heavenly Temple (beautiful), the Beijing National Stadium and National Aquatics Center (aka, Bird’s Nest and Cube), the drum and bell towers (very impressive), and the Summer Palace (awesome seeing people walking on the frozen lake).
In Shanghai, we saw the Bund and the famous view across the river to Pudong Street. From there we went to Suzhou and Hangzhou, seeing the beautiful gardens in the former and the stunning West Lake in the latter.
