Gravelly Point (3.30.13)

Gravelly Point Park is an over-crowded park with few amenities beyond some benches. Why is this park so popular? Partially because a popular bike/walking trail runs through it. Partially because it’s only a few minutes drive from central DC. Mostly because several times an hour, very large planes take off from Reagan International Airport, flying only a few hundred feet directly over your head! It’s really a unique experience to hang out at a park and get to see silver-winged monsters pass you by. Depending on the schedule, you can get a plane going by every few minutes.
